Quebec Immigrant Investor Program

The Quebec's Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés Culturelles recently changed its regulations regarding the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program. The highlights of said changes are:

  • The number of required managerial experience years for immigration to Canada under this Investor program has been lowered to two (2) within the last five (5) years (from three (3) in the last ten (10) years);
  • It will be easier than before for professionals (lawyers, doctors, architects, etc.) to immigrate to Canada under this Investor program;
  • In certain cases, the immigration interview can now be waived meaning that a candidate can be accepted for immigration to Canada under this Investor program without having to go through the interview process;
  • The assets of a candidate's spouse can be considered in the calculation of the assets;
  • Gifts (inheritances for instance) can now be considered in the calculation of a candidate's assets.
