Dominic Therrien previously practiced law in Montreal with a prestigious Canadian firm for a number of years where he represented, among others, many major financial institutions as a commercial litigator. Mr. Therrien made representations on a regular basis to the Superior Court of Quebec and, on a few occasions, to the Quebec Court of Appeal, the highest provincial tribunal in Quebec. Mr. Therrien also practiced sports law in said firm representing, among others, teams of the National Hockey League in various arbitration cases. Before joining said prestigious firm, Mr. Therrien represented young amateur baseball prospects who were eventually drafted by Major League Baseball professional teams and helped these players with their contractual negotiations.
Mr. Therrien was called to the Law Society of Quebec (Barreau du Québec) and to the Law Society of British Columbia. His law career followed several years of playing baseball in various Canadian elite programs and, eventually, professionally in the Atlanta Braves organization.
His sports law practice mainly focuses on contractual negotiations for baseball players.
